"Cottonwood Trail," is located in a nice, quiet public nature preserve in the Galisteo Basin not far from my Studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico. There are several hiking trails in the area. The one I picked to paint starts out towards the distant Ortiz Mountains, which are the greatly eroded remains of a large prehistoric volcano. What a great way to spend a warm Spring Morning.
